We are inviting participants like you to join an online treatment program to help our understanding about internet treatment options for people with insomnia (trouble sleeping) in our community. Trouble sleeping is common. One third of adults experience trouble sleeping, and one in ten may experience chronic insomnia. Trouble sleeping can impact you in many of the following ways:

Your participation in this study will help us to connect more people with help for their trouble sleeping. Your survey answers will give us useful information that only you can provide.

A quick set of screening questions determines your eligibility. Regardless of your eligibility, all participants who complete this survey will be entered in a drawing to win one of 10 pre-paid Mastercard gift cards of $500 each. If you are eligible for the study, you will then fill out a survey (Survey 1) that will take around 35 minutes to complete.

Most eligible participants who complete Survey 1 will continue in the study and be enrolled in one of two internet treatment groups that focus on insomnia. Both groups will include 6 weekly sessions of about 30 minutes each.
Immediately after treatment, participants will complete a second online survey.

A few participants will be asked to complete a second, telehealth. This treatment lasts for 6 weeks. It includes either weekly telehealth or weekly phone calls from our research staff following an initial virtual conversation. Most participants will not be asked to do this second treatment; the few who are asked will receive more information at that time.

All participants will then be asked to complete three additional surveys 8-weeks, 1-year, and 2-years after treatment. In total, there will be 5 surveys after the screening questions. In addition, you will complete a brief phone interview with one of research staff at 1-year and 2-years after treatment. All eligible participants will receive $35 for each of the 5 surveys, $30 for each of the 2 phone interviews that they complete, for a total of $235

The chart below is a summary of the study surveys. The red arrow marks which survey you are currently taking.
